MiniDam is the gingival protection device.
Comprised of silicone. Used to facilitate a relatively dry environment in the proximal area between two teeth and to protect the gingiva against dental materials.

Properties:
- Can be applied accurately to the treatment site and offers secure hold without clamps.
- Protects the proximal area during treatment – quickly, easily and comfortably for the patient.
- Ensures that the site being treated is sufficiently dry. At the same time, the gingiva is protected from the materials being used, e.g. etching gel.
- Can be placed by one person in just a few seconds.
- The material is latex-free and thus harmless for allergy sufferers.
- Infiltration treatment can be completed more quickly.
Method of use:
1. Clean the working area.
2. If the teeth are very close together: separate the teeth using a wedge.
3. Pre-stretch the gingival protection device by gently pulling the tabs apart.
4. Position the gingival protection device over the affected teeth. Make sure that the tabs are pointing in the direction of the area being worked on.
5. Pull the tabs apart.
6. Place the interdental section of the gingival protection device in the proximal position.
7. Pull the gingival protection device towards the gingiva until the interdental sections are positioned in the proximal area.
8. Release the gingival protection device.
9. Fold the gingival protection device cervically where the teeth are isolated.
10. Fold the tabs cervically.
11. Remove wedges as appropriate.
12. Verify that the gingival protection device is properly seated and correct if required.
13. Further measures to facilitate a dry environment (e.g. cotton rolls, aspiration) can be carried out as required.
14. Perform treatment.
15. Remove the gingival protection device and discard.
