Composition:

sodium hypochlorite (2% of active chlorine), water Ph. Eur., surfactants.

Properties:

Chloraxid Extra is a breakthrough in the area of rinsing the root canals. It’s innovativeness is the result of containing the surfactants, which effectively increase the properties of the solution on three levels:

Better penetration
Decreased surface tension of the solution makes the Chloraxid Extra perfectly penetrates and invade the dentinal tubules, removing the organic part of the smear layer.

Better stability
Prolonged concentration of the active sodium hypochlorite in the preparation Chloraxid Extra ensures keeping its outstanding properties during the whole shelf-life. The unique composition of the solution guarantees the accurate concentration of the active substances, even in increased temperature, what makes it perfect liquid to be used with ultrasound.

Prolonged duration
The synergy effect of all Chloraxid Extra ingredients prolong the action of the preparation in the root canal, and as the result there is an immediate and complete breakdown of organic substances.

Additionally:

- It cleans the canal, removes the smear layer in order to expose the dentin root canal orifices before final filling.

- It prevents from the tooth discoloration that might occur after filling the non-rinsed root canal.

Handling the product:

1. Open the pulp cavity, remove the content to expose the root canal orifices (pic.1).

2. Rinse initially with sodium hypochlorite (pic. 2).

3. Remove the inflamed pulp from a root canal (pic. 3).

4. Rinse copiously with sodium hypochlorite, simultaneously prepare the canal mechanically – insert the liquid into the root canal by means of the syringe with needle with side portal (pic. 4).

5. Liquid together with canal content aspirate by means of Endo-aspirator (pic. 5).

During root canal preparation it is recommended to use preparations containing disodium edetate, for example Endo-Solution, Endo-Prep.

Sodium hypochlorite contained in the product inactivates immediately in contact with organic substance. While concentration of sodium hypochlorite is decreasing, time of rinsing and volume should be necessarily simultaneosly increased.

While rinsing root canals, it is compulsory to rinse with physiological saline between rinsing sodium hypochlorite and chlorhexidine digluconate. It prevents from precipitating of a tawny deposit. Rinse copiously.
